Two friends from Carefree, Arizona, founded Carefree Nook. They wanted to capture a distinctive shopping experience with the same sense of fun and discovery found in their town, known for its art festivals, unique shops, desert wildlife, and easy-going atmosphere.

Julie and Robert’s fondness for simpler times, casual comfort, and vibrant aesthetics inspired a product line that celebrates individuality, expression, fun times with friends and family, and a bit of nostalgia.

ROBERT BISCHOFF

Robert earned his BFA degree from Indiana University and his MFA degree in graphic design from the Yale University School of Art. He spent decades honing his craft in the corporate world, specifically in retail food packaging design with Quaker Oats, Kraft, and US Foods. His work has garnered numerous awards. Inspired by his enthusiasm for “just plain good design,” he embraced that mindset and channeled his creativity into a product collection highlighting his unique style through symbolism, formal design, and humor. His expressive images appear on shirts, totes, pillows, mugs, and other exclusive merchandise available at Carefree Nook.

JULIE CIRELLI

Julie grew up where sunshine was a way of life, from California beaches to Arizona days spent poolside. It shaped her easygoing West Coast outlook. After earning a B.S. in Advertising from Arizona State University, she began her career as a healthcare copywriter, blending creativity and compassion. At Carefree Nook, Julie brings playful energy to the mix. She helps shape the clever, casual vibe of our graphic tees and other fun stuff. A writer at heart with a love for art, laughter, literature, and self-expression, her passion shows in the designs we create — celebrating the joy, humor, friendships, and carefree spirit that can be found in everyday life.
